How to Recognize the Voice of God in the Midst of Chaos

How to Recognize the Voice of God in the Midst of Chaos

“How can I recognize God’s voice in the midst of chaos?” This is a question that a lot of believers struggle with when trying to draw closer to Him. Whether you are a new believer or someone who has a deep understanding of the word of God, this is a question that we constantly come across. So, how can we know that the voice we’re listening to is from God? Well, here are three ways to go about it.

Prepare your heart

How can you hear from God when your heart is not ready for it? Your heart needs to be in alignment with your needs. You can’t expect to hear from God when your heart is full of obstructing clutters. Prepare your heart by spending time with the Word of God daily. This should involve reading the Bible, meditating on His Word, and sometimes sitting silently as you prepare your heart to hear from Him.

Learn to Recognize His Voice

There are so many distractions in life that can be very confusing. That’s why it’s important to learn how to recognize the voice of God in the midst of chaos. God talked to Elijah in a small still voice (check first Kings 19:11).

Our lives might be messy and noisy, but it’s still possible to hear the stillness of His voice, even in the midst of chaos. As a true believer, you will be able to identify His voice. There are voices from other people, satan, and even from your own mind. But the voice of God is calming, reassuring, and comforting. You will not wear yourself out by trying to figure it out because even Jesus says that “My sheep know my voice.” (Contemporary English Version)

Surround Yourself with Godly people

Dealing with chaos in life is not easy. It’s possible to lose yourself in the process due to hopelessness. But surrounding yourself with like-minded people may be all that you need to get through trying times. In Matthew 18:20 the Bible says that where two or three are gathered together in His name, there am I in the midst of them.

Spend time with Godly people, pray together, and meditate on the word of God together. Having such a support team helps to build character during tough situations. Don’t forget that God sometimes speaks to us through other people.

Dealing With Real Life Adversity and Events

Once you understand how to recognize the voice of God in the midst of chaos, then you will be able to confront the storms in your life. It’s important as a follower of Jesus Christ to find shelter in the Word of God, regardless of how difficult the situation in your life is.

What I know is that you are not alone. We have all have been through trying times and this can still be expected in the future. However, God speaks in various ways and it should be our aim to draw closer to him. To navigate through the troubling waters in life:

  • There is no need to fret: during times of adversity, it’s natural as humans to express distress. But it’s also important to be patient. Allow God to control and guide your life.
  • Don’t forget to pray: prayers are the pillars of a Godly life. According to 1 Thessalonians 5:17, the Bible advises us to continuously pray without ceasing. Ask God for grace, hope, and strength to navigate through life’s storms.

How to make the transition Into The New normal

How to make the transition Into The New Normal

If this year has shown us anything, it’s how to be strong amidst a season of struggle and fear. This pandemic has ruined a lot of aspects in our lives, whether it’s your career and any future plans you might have had. You could have just graduated, or you could be on the verge of getting promoted, yet the pandemic happened and every aspect of our lives has been put to a pause. However, through God’s word, He teaches us to be strong and courageous. Despite this pandemic ruining some of our plans and future, this season is showing us how to trust in God’s plans rather than our own. Love is ultimately greater than fear and it’s through our love for God that we’ll surpass the anxiety and fear that this season is giving us.

As we progress into this new normal, this is where more fears occur as the future is blurry and confusing. This pandemic changed so many aspects in our lives, that we don’t know what’s in store for us in the future. It’s normal to be fearful of the future, but it’s also time to lean and depend on God and let go of tomorrow’s worries and troubles. I know It’s easier said than done, but nothing about the situation is going to change by worrying. However, by trusting in God and His plans for you, there’s a sense of peace and calmness in your heart. While you may not have all the answers on what the new normal brings and how to transition into it, just trust in the fact that God always has your back. Remember 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you, Ultimately, our own plans don’t matter as much as God’s plans for us.

The pandemic may be hardest and most frustrating thing any of us have ever gone though. It’s a test of faith, strength, resilience, and courage. However, do you trust in God even in this process of the unknown? Are you willing to have faith even in the things that don’t make sense right now? If there’s anything we could take out of this, it’s to reflect and analyze on our own life.

Change is an opportunity for growth and even when it’s far from ideal, it’s a chance to set the right priorities in place in our lives. Maybe this world was never normal to begin with because it was too broken and chaotic, and this pandemic had to happen to make everyone adjust their lives to have the right set of priorities. Maybe this pandemic was God’s way of fixing the brokenness of this world to wake everyone up with being caught up in their own selfish ways. Maybe normal was not something we’re supposed to go back to, because we’re supposed to change for the better. Of course, this isn’t an implication that this pandemic was supposed to happen. However, in trusting God and His purpose in all of this mess, we rise above our fear and our need to control our lives. In the first place, God is the only one in control and until we can give that up, we can’t rise above our fear, worries and anxieties. We can’t have real inner peace until we give it all to God.

The Story of God’s Love For You

The word of God as written in the Bible is a clear record of facts depicting how much God loves man and woman as the most important of all His creation. It not only shows God’s elaborate plan and purpose for mankind but it also illustrates the involvement of the creator in ensuring that His love for what He created continues throughout all generations. This devotional message seeks to bring an in-depth understanding of the story of God’s love for you.

The creation story in the book of Genesis chapter one, from verse twenty six to verse twenty eight ,shows a Godly consultation that came up with the resolution to create man in the image and likeness of God.

This is after God had created all the other things, but the creation was incomplete without man.God took the time to create man from dust and afterwards put the breath of life in him as opposed to just saying a word as was the case with the rest of the creation. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.Genesis 2:7 He gave man authority over the rest of the creation giving him access, rights and privileges And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.Genesis 1:26 second to none among the created beings. This is a clear indication of the value and importance that God attaches to Man .

Jesus Sent to Die for the Sins of Man
When Adam and Eve sinned and were banished from the Garden of Eden,God was greatly angered by the interruption of His plan to continue loving Man and having fellowship with him.As a result,we see God cursing the serpent for deceiving the Woman and also cursing the ground on behalf of Adam.In order to ensure that His plan of Loving mankind continued,God sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to die on the cross, as the only worthy sacrifice to atone for the sin of man ,and to eternally reconcile the fallen man back to Himself.

Jesus will come for The Believers
After Jesus died and rose from the Dead,He ascended to heaven where he Sits with God the Father. As per the prophesy recorded in the books of the prophets, and the vision of John in the book of Revelation,Jesus will come back for “His bride”.This is the church composed of all people who believes in God and welcome His son Jesus Christ into their lives. These will reign with Christ eternally as a culmination of the story of God’s love for you and me and a fulfillment of His plan and purpose for mankind.

God’s overall plan
The overall plan of God from the books of Genesis to Revelation is one of love and goodwill for his creation, especially humanity. It is clear that God wants humanity to enjoy life, take care of the rest of the creation and fulfill God’s will on earth.Furthermore, the Bible in the Gospel of John chapter three verse sixteen accurately records that it was as a result of loving the world that God gave His only son with the sole intention that man believes in Jesus,is saved from perishing and inherits everlasting life. There can never be a better illustration of love than this sacrifice that God offered for the restoration of the love relationship between Him and Mankind.
